Original yellowed endpapers. Documented provenance: gifted from the publisher David Bryce to his son and then grandaughter, then to her great niece. Sold from the final direct family relation of the publisher in October 2025. 12 x 16 mm.    Original maroon leather. Originally preserved by the Bryce family and still presented in the a fully hallmarked 'shield cut' silver locket with loop at the top. It was assayed in Birmingham in 1910 and made by Albert Edward Jones, according to the hallmarks. Bondy, 113. Garbett, 47. Welsh, 3138. Unique copy from a pre-publication stage of Bryce's smallest publication, once owned by the publisher and carefully passed down his direct family until purchased for the first time in 2025. Producing dummy copies is known to be one of the production methods used in the publication process of David Bryce and Son. "It's publication was advertised in a handout but it was thought not to exist until found and described in The Miniature Book Collector... One would be very lucky to find a copy of this rare book" Garbett. NB Garbett describes this as bound in green leather.
