Ink ownership inscription on front free endpaper, dated 1853. Contemporary pencil inscription on rear blank leaf, dated 1909. 27 x 34 mm. Original black calf  wallet-style binding. A bit abraded in places. Bondy, 127. Spielmann, 466. Welsh, 6434.  No OCLC number. WorldCat locates no copies of this edition worldwide. According to Bondy, this title "belongs to the best-loved miniature books, and was obviously much treasured by our Victorian ancestors." At least 34 editions were published in England, making it the most numerous miniature book of the first half of the 19th Century. The earlier editions are less commonly found today.
